Family Health Centers of San Diego is looking for a Dental Coordinator who is responsible for the efficient and cost effective management and coordination of an assigned Family Health Centers of San Diego dental clinic. Through your strong leadership of the dental services front office staff and Registered Dental Assistants, you ensure the clinic meets the goals of high quality patient care, increased production, and professionalism. You are also responsible for scheduling appointments for maximum production, answering telephones, greeting patients, making financial estimates and payment arrangements, and entering data into the electronic health record system. As a Coordinator-Dental Clinic, you are passionate about ensuring the medically underserved receive exceptional, affordable dental care. Your strong leadership skills, combined with your customer service skills, ensure that your clinic operates efficiently and smoothly, with a focus on quality patient care. Responsibilities:

  • Builds positive relationships, inspires others to perform at a higher level, prepares career development plans and retains an accountable workforce.
  • Coaches and counsels staff and administers appropriate disciplinary action in a timely manner.
  • Completes all required documentation accurately, in a timely manner, and thoroughly in accordance with department standards; in addition, documentation complies with patients' insurance requirements.
  • Coordinates the daily operations of the assigned Dental Clinic.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities and ensures appropriate Lean tools (i.e., 5S, A3) are deployed and results are evaluated and/or measured.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Provides excellent customer service and performs front-office duties, including making financial estimates and financial arrangements; collecting funds; providing receipts; opening and closing encounters; entering data into E-HR correctly and accurately. Handles patient concerns in a positive manner.
  • Provides/ensures staff receive all new hire and annual trainings on time.
  • Schedules patients for maximum productivity of dental clinic.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma (or GED equivalent).
  • Associate's degree in healthcare administration, business, or healthcare field preferred.
  • California Registered Dental Assistant license preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association healthcare provider CPR (BLS) certification required.
  • 1 year of demonstrated supervisory or lead experience required.
  • 4 years of progressively responsible dental office experience required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English required.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base range for this position, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses.

If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
