Posting Details
This position will teach primarily on campus with the possibility of some online courses. This position will follow the academic year. Minimum qualifications must be met by the date of hire. The below salary range is for initial placement only. If currently teaching within Minnesota State, current salary will remain the same.

Job Description
A Successful Candidate Will:
- Teach a variety of college courses related to Chemistry.
- Prepare lab materials necessary to conduct labs including set up and take down, ordering chemicals, and safely storing and disposing of chemicals as necessary.
- Work with various grants to align curriculum with grant outcomes, recruit/mentor students, and possible new curriculum/program development.
- Serve as a mentor for high school faculty teaching college courses as part of the College in the Schools Program.
- Participate in institutional planning and student success initiatives.
- Be able to teach using a variety of delivery methodologies ranging from in-person to online to hybrid/blended courses and including the use of learning management systems.
- Demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively in a multidimensional campus community, with a special focus on American Indian students as well as students with a broad range of skill levels.
- Exhibit a strong commitment to supporting diverse students through instruction, active participation in campus activities, and other college and state system-level initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree with a major in chemistry or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in chemistry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary teaching experience.
- Post-secondary or professional research experience.
- Experience with following lab safety protocols including ordering, storing, and disposal of chemicals.
- Experience recruiting and mentoring students interested in STEM fields.
- Experience with working with grants and meeting grant outcomes and protocols.
- Prior teaching experience in a tribal and/or two-year postsecondary institution.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and assessment of student learning outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a student population encompassing a broad range of skill levels.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, including committee work.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Online and hybrid/blended teaching experience, including the use of learning management systems and videoconferencing technology in the classroom.
Other Requirements
In accordance with the Minnesota State’s Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State’s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
