Systems Engineer - 24-014 - San Diego, CA


AUSGAR Technologies has a new opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join our team of smart and innovative technical team members working in the Point Loma area of San Diego, California.

Will provide direct support to the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific working on the United States Marine Corps (USMC) Networking on the Move (NOTM) program. Support will include the following:

  • Perform software replication, regression testing, system management and change control.
  • Assist in updating documentation for system and program technical descriptions.
  • Ensure the DoD systems meet the accreditation requirements for all Certification and Accreditation (C&A) for DoD, IC and Federal Systems.
  • Develop, modify, review and provide recommendations for C&A packages for accreditation and re-accreditation.
  • Assist with conducting Security Testing & Evaluation (ST&E) for enclave and system accreditations as needed.
  • Attending collaboration meetings with Echelon II, CA and DAAs as necessary.
  • Perform security lockdowns on the Marine Corps systems in accordance with Security Technical Implementation Guidance (STIG).
  • Provide engineering guidance based on DoD and industry Security Best Business Practices.
  • Coordinate and perform technical and non-technical C&A assessments to evaluate compliance with established information assurance policies and regulations according to DoD, NSA, DISA, NIST and other IA-related military/Federal requirements.
  • Employ strong written and verbal communication skills to advise various levels of technology stakeholders, program initiatives and accrediting authorities on security requirements and information assurance trends and solutions to include risk assessments and mitigations.
Requirements

  • Must possess an active Secret clearance.
  • Must possess DoD 8140 IAT II certification, i.e. Security+ ce.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science or related degree from an accredited college/university and five to nine years of related experience.
  • Solid analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve high-level, complex, technical problems.
  • Knowledge of network and host security assessment tools, vulnerability analysis and internal auditing processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Windows Operating System, routers, firewalls and related infrastructure devices preferred.
  • Knowledge of commercial encryption systems highly desirable.
  • Past experience as a systems administrator desirable.
  • Two (2) years of Cybersecurity and C&A experience desirable.
  • Expected travel up to 10%.

Salary Range: $100-120K


An essential qualification for this position is successfully obtaining a Secret security clearance issued by the Federal Government, which may require successful completion of a background check.


AUSGAR's salary range is dependent upon a variety of factors, which include experience, skills, education, certifications and geographical location. Our salary range includes a base salary and excellent benefits package as part of our total compensation.
