Under general supervision performs in depth complex daily CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 review of outpatient codes and charges to resolve coding errors and claim edits. Accurately interpret handwritten and typed notes/diagnoses and convert them into CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 codes. This position will be coding E/M, minor procedures, sports medicine, infusions, preventative care, Medicare wellness, Transition Care Management, pediatrics and others areas as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSCertified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).
Three (3) years of coding experience with Primary Care or multiple specialty.
Strong skills in CPT, ICD-10, & HCPCS. Along with modifier usage and very familiar with global days.
Flexibility for cross-training in other areas.
Epic experience.
Experience with Medi-Cal.
Experience with Medicare (LCD, NCD).
Teaching hospital experience.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $70,199 - $87,258 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $33.62 - $41.79
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
