Ignite Digital Services is seeking an Accountant to join our Charleston, SC or San Diego, CA office to support the accounting operations for the company. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with superior listening, communication, and analytical talents. This position serves an important role in corporate operations, working as an accountant in a dynamic team, supporting the accounts receivable and accounts payable process. This is not a position where you will just learn how to use an accounting system, you will need to apply your knowledge of accounting to problem solve, including investigating variances and account reconciliations. This would be a perfect position for someone who craves responsibility, learning, and experience, supporting all facets of accounting and finance with unlimited opportunity to grow. The ideal candidate will possess a background in accounts receivable and accounts payable and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities:
Perform general bookkeeping functions such as accounts receivable, subcontract accounts payable, and general ledger.
Prepare, post, verify, and record customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
Prepare, post, verify, and record transactions related to vendor invoices and payments in accounts payable.
Conduct cash reconciliations.
Maintain files and documentation, including the filing of general ledger journal vouchers, accounts payable documentation, and other miscellaneous filings.
Create invoices according to company practices.
Assist with cash flow analyst preparation.
Prepare invoice supporting documentation.
Compile invoice backup documentation to comply with client invoice specifications and internal records.
Create reports regarding the status of customer accounts as requested.
Monitor unbilled receivables and aging accounts receivable.
Assist with revenue operations lead with revenue posting.
Communicate with customers to resolve payment issues.
Assist in generating monthly billing statements based on the general ledger.
Copy, file, and retrieve materials for accounts receivable as needed.
Maintain and validate business Tax returns.
Prepare and validate quarterly tax requirements.
Conduct complex tax research and planning.
Assists Accounting Manager preparing accounting training materials like creating SOP and Workflow
Assists with Audit requirements as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business, or related field.
Solid knowledge of GAAP rules and regulations.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, including Vlookups and Pivot Tables.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
2+ years of accounting experience.
Background in payroll processing preferred.
Understanding of the fundamentals of accounting to include financial statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the reconciliation process.
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality with regards to company accounts.

Salary: $68,000+ to align with education and experience
