The SCCC department is seeking a Post Doctoral Associate that performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. Moreover, the Post Doctoral Associate promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community.

This position will collaborate in the lab of Research Professor, Michele Ceccarelli, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Department of Public Health Sciences, and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. The research of Ceccarelli Lab is focused of the development of novel computational methods to identify the main drivers of cancer progression and drug resistance through the analysis and dissection of molecular network. The candidate ideal has expertise in the development and application of state-of-the art models of machine learning and data science to uncover hidden relations between genomic data and phenotypes in cancer and a track record of publications in top Journals and Conferences.

Primary Responsibilities:
1. Conducts research on specific areas of Computational Biology as assigned.
2. Prepares research reports and technical papers for publishing.
3. Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories.
4. Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.
5. Develops advanced analytical models and systems and provides solutions and analyses to support strategic and tactical decisions.
6. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education: MD or Ph.D. in relevant field
