CCBC anticipates the need of an individual able to teach a variety of machining-, fabrication-, and manufacturing-related courses, as part of the Advanced Industrial Design and Technology Program, in the CCBC Engineering Department. Full load of instruction in Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters, college and community service, student advising, departmental support and ongoing professional development are required. The position may involve teaching classes at multiple campuses scheduled during days, evenings, or weekends. Preferred candidates are enthusiastic about content and pedagogy, use best teaching practices, and are committed to hands-on student learning. Best consideration will be given to applicants who present evidence of excellence in teaching, experience at the community college level, and ability to teach a variety of machining, fabrication, and advanced manufacturing courses.
- Minimum Requirements
Education and Certification Requirements
- Associates degree in Advanced Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field, Bachelor’s degree preferred, with at least five years of fabrication-, manufacturing-, and/or machining-related experience required.
- National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS) certifications are strongly preferred.
Teaching Requirements- Two years of full-time, or four years of part-time, manufacturing teaching experience at the college level required.
- Demonstrated ability to teach a variety of machining, fabrication, and manufacturing-related courses and operate related machine shop equipment required.
Valid driver’s license in good standing with fewer than five (5) violation points as the position will require travel to all campus locations.

- Facilitate and support student learning by developing and providing clear and effective instruction using traditional and technology-based instruction.
- Meet all classes as assigned during instructional periods.
- Communicate effectively with students by disseminating academic information including syllabi and academic policies and by responding to e-mails and phone calls from students in a timely manner.
- Program-related student advising.
- Required office hours per College policy.
- Provide effective and appropriate assessment with prompt qualitative and quantitative feedback.
- Keep instructional materials and student work organized and accessible.
- Maintain Learning Management System (e.g. Brightspace) site, providing students access to syllabi, grades, and other supplemental course material.
- Support students and other college units and comply with relevant state and federal laws.
- Ongoing curricular development including content update, curricular alignment, consistent assessment practices and record keeping.
- Collaborate with staff by completing and submitting reports and documentation in a timely manner.
- Attend and participate in committee, departmental, College and School meetings.
- Provide College and Community Service through collegial and individual initiatives.
- Maintain and develop professional expertise through ongoing professional development or scholarship.
