Job Description
Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Co Centre Research Programme and Funding Manager within UCD Agriculture, Food Science and Human Nutrition.
The Co-Centre for Sustainable Food Systems encompasses a research programme of oriented basic and applied research in the areas of science, technology, engineering and social sciences across three jurisdictions - the Republic of Ireland (ROI), Northern Ireland (NI) and Great Britain (GB) - with the aim of directly assisting the development and competitiveness of industry, enterprise and employment across the Island of Ireland (IOI). In collaboration with four GB partners, the Co-Centre will build on the shared objectives of nine leading agri-food educational and research institutions on the IOI to develop a robust, resilient and sustainable food system that meets changing consumer demands. The Co-Centre for Sustainable Food Systems will build cooperation and consensus to develop an agri-food sector that underpins the all-Island economy. The Co-Centre will foster R&I to accelerate radical transitions towards a more environmentally and economically sustainable and transparent agri-food sector.
Reporting to the Co-Centre Manager, the Co-Centre Research Programme and Funding Manager will work closely with the Co-Centre Manager in supporting and managing the Co-Centre's research programme. In addition, the successful applicant will identify opportunities and manage the submission of proposals for funding calls at both a national and international level. They will have responsibility for developing and executing the Co-Centre research funding diversification strategy with a priority focus on non-exchequer, non-commercial (NENC) funding streams. The Research Programme and Funding Manager will sit on the Research Programme and Research & Industry Funding Sub-Committees and will report on targets, deliverables and will evaluate progress in line with the Co-Centre's funding objectives.
Salary: €54,455 per annum
