DESCRIPTION

Under general direction from the Director of Organ Operations and The Executive Director - the Surgical Services and Transplant Center Relations Manager provides oversight of programs and staff supervision for Surgical Services Coordinators within Lifesharing. Oversight includes managing daily operations of the Surgical Services team, including, but not limited to; managing surgical recovery and preservation of organs for local deceased donors,, flyout support, living donor packaging, research organ allocation and recovery, post case organ pumping and ensuring adequate donor supplies. Ensures adequate staffing and on-call response for the team-members tasked with the activities listed above. Ensures all training is provided and documented in compliance with all relevant regulatory agency requirements. The Surgical Services and Transplant Center Relations Manager is responsible for ensuring Lifesharing meets benchmarks for donation rates and transplantation rates through effective monitoring, data assessment and change management. Ensures fiscal sustainability by managing staff overtime and efficient supply oversight.

Acts as liaison between Lifesharing and all transplant centers receiving organs from Lifesharing donors and researcher organizations interested in or receiving organs for their programs. This role includes establishing standing meetings with transplant center leaders to review OPO performance, transplant center acceptance practices and any other areas of concerns. These standing meetings should occur at least once annually, but the cadence of meetings should be established based on each centers' (and Lifesharing's) needs. The Surgical Services and Transplant Center Relations Manager will proactively contact transplant center leaders when issues or problems arise. The Surgical Services and Transplant Center Relations Manager will work in concert with the Executive Director of Lifesharing and keep him/her updated on all meeting activities, issues and areas of concerns from Lifesharing or the centers.

Surgical Services and Transplant Center Relations Manager will hold standing team meetings and 1:1 meetings with all direct reports once per month at a minimum

Additional responsibilities may be assessed and assigned by the Director of Organ Operations and/or the Executive Director. On-call supervisory duties may be assigned similar to other clinical leaders at Lifesharing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • BLS or BART at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • CPT or CPTC certified.

  • Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus Five (5) years of related experience/training

  • Experience and proven success in skills to effectively supervise patient care support staff.

  • Strong knowledge of practice operations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • OPO experience.
  • OPO Leadership role.
  • Lean Six Sigma training at Yellow-Belt level or higher.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $82,500 - $151,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $39.51 - $72.56

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
