(RN) Registered Nurse Per Diem- Transplant - 130510

Job Description

DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the attending faculty physician and clinical nurse lead or NP, the RN responsible for providing clinical assistance and support in treating and managing the pre and post-transplant care of transplant patients Acts as key member of the multidisciplinary transplant teams. Solves complex clinical problems and communicates directly with the attending physician. Consultant and liaison for patients and their families with attending physicians, house staff, social workers, financial and administrative staff, and community physicians. Provides teaching to patients, staff, and community organizations. Collaborate with attending physicians on admissions, discharges and outpatient care. Works closely with administrative team to fulfill QA and regulatory requirements. Position may cross train to cover nursing positions in pre and post-transplant as well as the transplant multispecialty clinic.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.

  • RN license issued by the State of California.

  • BART or BLS certification at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months of hire date.

  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of recent acute or ambulatory care nursing experience.

  • Recent experience caring for solid organ transplant patients on a nursing floor or outpatient unit that specializes in caring for this patient population.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibilities, and to quickly assess moderately-complex problems to develop potential solutions.

  • Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment, have excellent interpersonal andcommunication skills, and consistently demonstrate empathy and kindness to all staff and patients.

  • Demonstrates critical thinking and clinical skills to identify and implement nursing interventions andevaluate results.

  • Must have excellent skills to communicate and influence effectively with all levels of staff,physicians, patients and external constituents, both verbally and in writing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BSN or BSN in progress.
  • Critical Care, Step-down or Emergency Department experience.
  • Cardiac, Pulmonology, Renal or Hepatology nursing experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $170,485 - $170,485 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $81.65 - $81.65

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
