Essential Job Duties

This person will be responsible for conducting research associated with a funded research grant in carbon fiber veils for hydrogen fuel cells. The employee will be conducting fundamental fiber to fiber interactions as part of a larger research grant. This person will have responsibility for successfully completing the required experimental tasks.

Other Work/Responsibilities

The employee will also need to work with undergraduate researchers in supervising their activities in the lab.

Work Schedule

M - F, 8am - 5pm

Department Required Skills

  • Knowledge of scientific principles in engineering, chemistry, physics or materials.
  • Capability to perform testing of materials using scientific equipment.
  • Preparation of reports and presentations
  • Ability to conduct literature search and provide relevant summary of materials
  • Skills in taking conceptual ideas and putting them into practice

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

Ph.D. in engineering, material science, chemistry, or related fields.
Demonstrated ability to write scientific papers.
Experience designing new measurement techniques.
Knowledge of fiber based materials properties and physics.
