Job Description

The Continuous Programming & Summer Pre-Matriculation Program Manager, in concert with the TLP leadership team, will hold the primary responsibility of overseeing the Transformational Leaders Program’s Summer Academy at Notre Dame, a summer pre-matriculation program for differently prepared students who are a part of our Mission Scholars programs. In this capacity, the CPSP program manager will organize, coordinate, develop all aspects of academic and social programming around first generation scholar college transitioning ensuring that it reflects best practices in higher education and aligns with the Catholic Mission. The program manager will also support the TLP director in the selection, communication, and evaluation of the in person Summer Academy (SAND) program. In addition to the in-person Summer Academy responsibilities, this role will oversee the development and execution of a virtual SAND program for an additional tier of incoming TLP students.

The CPSP Program Manager will lead TLP’s efforts to make sure that students from any Mission Scholars program (TLP, AnBryce, Posse, Balfour-Hesburgh) needing continuous housing, ongoing face to face programming, and/or outreach due to varied home circumstances, including during campus breaks are cared for in conjunction with our campus partners and local South Bend Community including but not limited to: the TLP Education and Outreach team, college level academic advisers, Office of the Registrar, the Learning Resource Center, Career Services, Center for Student Support and Care, Residential Life, University Health Services, the Enrollment Division, including Financial Aid, and the Center for University Advising.

Additional responsibilities include: overseeing winter and spring break planning for student remaining on campus, as well as an annual mid-year return to campus weekend, along with other developing relevant programs as needed in conjunction with the TLP Team. During the academic year, the CPSP program manager may also be called on to assist the Learning Resource Center with programming, scheduling, or oversight of learning programs as appropriate.

The CPSP Program Manager must have the ability to handle and interpret sensitive information with discretion and a high level of confidentiality. They will embrace the mission of the University of Notre Dame, a Catholic university founded by the Congregation of the Holy Cross.

This is a three year limited term position.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (4 years) 2-3 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Google Suites and Microsoft Suite, including Excel/Google Sheets, Forms, and Shared Drives
  • Commitment to the protection of minors and all related compliance measures. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, social justice, and culturally sustaining practices. Commitment to the University’s Catholic identity
  • and the ability to engage in practices consistent with the University’s Catholic mission, values, and teachings.
  • Commitment to a developmental model of advocating for, advising, and engaging with students. Knowledge
  • about developmental, psychological, social and physical, and intellectual issues related to young adulthood.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in related field.
  • Experience working with college students in a residential campus setting.
  • Expertise in needs assessment.
  • Experience working in large, diffuse teams in case management and/or working as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Experience with multifaceted and multimodal interventions related to student success.
  • Experience managing crisis situations with youth or young adults.
