Pay Range - $62,866.93 - $91,028.88 (Actual base pay based on factors such as relevant experience, education, market, qualifications, and skills)



GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Performs simple activities in the design, layout, testing, and evaluation of technical products. This is an entry-level position responsible for the creation of engineering design/drawings, from concept through to finished product. Applies basic design principles to draft, model detail, tooling, and other products. Transfers legacy drawings into CAD and/or potentially 3D model format (AutoCAD Inventor/Pro Engineer/Solid Works). Applies design rules to layouts. Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues. Works on problems of limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Builds stable working relationships internally. Normally receives detailed instructions on all work.

REQUIREMENTS
Requires BS degree in engineering.
Requires 6 mos. to 2 years of related professional experience or its equivalent in education and experience.
AutoCAD/Mechanical Desktop/Inventor/Pro Engineer/Solid Works/experience required.
Must possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal to interface with outside vendors, to generate and deliver presentations to internal customers.
Familiarity with general machining characteristics and fabrication process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assists in product development activities including drawing, board layout, and interpretation and implementation of customer specifications and documentation requirements.
  2. Assists in supporting existing product line in design activities and/or modification of hardware in production.
  3. Assists in engineering studies.
  4. Communicates with production and sales engineers concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. Attempts to develop new packaging designs that are cost effective and meet timeline requirements.
  5. Assists in implementing changes to eliminate packaging-related failures.
  6. Assists in providing regular status reports on packaging development projects and process improvement activities.
  7. Utilizes established systems and keeps relevant documentation accurate and current.
  8. Interacts regularly with design engineering leadership, application engineering, manufacturing engineering, and quality engineering to achieve goals.

Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
