Summary

Position Type: 10-20 hours/week, option for full-time in a future expanded program or with teaching responsibilities.

Craftsbury Saplings is a growing non-profit children?s center providing year-round high-quality care for our community of children. We are excited to be expanding programming in the next 2 years. The expansion with the construction of a new facility will increase our program capacity from 19 to 54 children!

JOB SUMMARY
In anticipation of our expansion and increased staffing needs, we are looking to add capacity to our team.
The precise responsibilities of the person(s) hired will depend upon interests, skills, and experience.
Potential responsibilities include:
  • Project/event coordination: This is specific to coordinating our upcoming capital campaign.
  • Family & community outreach: Collaborate with board and staff to create communications materials and implement communication plans to build and maintain strong community relationships
  • Administrative support: Maintain records, coordinate meetings and schedules, and write reports
  • Development: Support fundraising plans and grant research, writing and reporting
  • Human Resources: HR compliance and benefits research
  • Program Improvement: Collaborate with the Saplings? team to engage in continuous improvement practices, respond to changing community needs, and take action toward a collective vision
  • Other business-related coordination and tasks

  • Communications/public relations, especially in the nonprofit world
  • Management: Human resources, nonprofit programs, capital projects, business administration
  • Education: Early childhood education, public/private school education, school administration, nature-based learning, child-led learning, Montessori/Waldorf/Reggio Emilia educational philosophies
  • Familiarity with or ability to learn cloud-based platforms including, but not limited to: Google Suite, Squarespace, and Little Green Light
  • Service-based and/or collaborative leadership style
  • Values-led and/or ?people before profit? approach to work
  • Systems and Organizational Expertise

Requirements

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position will be a combination of remote and on-site work to provide for relationship building and program participation along with efficiency and flexibility. Our team works collaboratively to get tasks done, and support each other's skills and interests under a supportive leadership model that values employees' personal lives and work relationships.

Benefits

COMPENSATION:
The hourly pay rate is $19 - $24 per hour. A generous compensation package provides eligible employees (working 18 hours or more) with Two scheduled weeks and up to 80 additional hours paid time off, 9 paid holidays annually. After one year of employment, employees may apply for up to 10 weeks of paid parental or family leave. Additional annual benefits of $4045 value include: 1) Employer Sponsored Retirement Plan 2) $60 monthly wellness bonus, 3) $600 professional development stipend, 4) free membership at Craftsbury Outdoor Center, and 5) nutritious lunches provided daily.
