Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Division of Information Technology at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD) is seeking a full-time junior Salesforce administrator. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level professional to develop their skills in Salesforce administration while contributing to the success of the University’s CRM environment.

The junior Salesforce administrator will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the University’s Salesforce Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) platform. This position is responsible for the day-to-day configuration, support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the CRM system, ensuring its seamless integration across the organization. The role involves performing key administrative tasks, including user and license management, processing support tickets, and enhancing user adoption and system utilization.

The junior Salesforce administrator will work closely with stakeholders to understand their unique needs, gather requirements, and configure the platform to meet evolving business demands. This position will also work with a team of Salesforce technical support staff in the ongoing development and configuration of Salesforce deployments, ensuring that efficiency is maximized while leveraging features and benefits of the system based on unique departmental needs.

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university conferred by start date.

Experience:
  • One (1) year of professional information technology system administration experience. Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.

Knowledge, Skills AND Abilities:
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce Sales, Service and Marketing Cloud products.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce.com’s best practices and functionality in relation to creating custom apps and objects, formula fields, flow, reports, custom views, and other content.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in the use of Google Workspace products.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
  • Ability to multitask while demonstrating a commitment to customer service and sensitivity to a culturally and ethnically diverse community.

Salesforce Administrator certification within twelve (12) months after the start date
