Job Description

Full job description

The National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) is a dynamic and growing non-profit organization dedicated to research, advocacy, and patient and medical education. We work together toward a cure for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and to increase the lifespan and improve the health of individuals living with psoriatic disease.

The Director, Patient Centered Research represents a strongly positioned opportunity to guide extramural research and lead collaborative efforts that focus on NPF patient-centered programs and data. The Director’s work contributes fundamentally to NPF’s mission to cure psoriatic disease and improve the lives of those it affects.

The position’s primary role is to lead the Patient Centered Research program, leveraging research learnings to inform NPF activities and policies. The Patient Centered Research program currently focuses on rigorously applied survey methodologies and mixed methods approaches. The resultant NPF data has contributed to an average of 3-4 peer reviewed publications per year, offering the ideal candidate significant opportunity to participate in published scientific discourse.

The Director is expected to stay abreast of developments in the broader psoriatic disease research field. In addition to routine conference attendance and research collaborations, the position is expected to support and be familiar with the NPF extramural research grants and fellowships programs. These programs focus on close partnership with awardees to provide a supportive and flexible platform tailored to the understanding that research is a dynamic and iterative process.

The position is multi-faceted and requires management of multiple simultaneous projects and tasks, as well as frequent and on-going communications with colleagues, research awardees, patients, vendors, and other collaborators. This role involves combining a keen sense of scientific knowledge, strategy, and detail-oriented work.
