Position Overview
- Manages and directs the operations within the assigned district to ensure blood donation goals are achieved.
- Works closely with local hospitals to ensure blood products are available as needed and all service needs are met appropriately.
- Ensures local operations are managed appropriately, in accordance with all procedural requirements and are in line with organizational values.
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)
- Responsible for overseeing all operational departments within assigned regions.
- Directly oversee operational management and administration staff within the district.
- Ensure community satisfaction with donors and donor groups and, act as media spokesperson for LifeSouth.
- Ensure hospital satisfaction associated with products and services.
- Maintain oversight on all assigned physical resources associated with buildings, equipment and vehicle and bloodmobile fleet.
- Provide regulatory oversight of operations in conjunction with corporate Quality Assurance department.
- Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, address any personnel related issues in conjunction with corporate Human Resources department.
- Responsible for external and internal inspections for the district.
- Ensure that each branch is in compliance with staffing ratios established by the organization.
- Responsible to ensure all team members represent LifeSouth in accordance with our mission, vision, and code of conduct.
- Position requires ability to make decisions and direct operations in accordance to policy and leads initiatives to ensure the operations reach organizational goals.
- Attendance is a requirement of this position.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Previous experience in LifeSouth management position or other management highly preferred
- Blood banking experience, management experience, or FDA regulatory experience desired

LifeSouth is a non-profit community blood bank serving more than 150 hospitals in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee. We are committed to meeting the blood supply needs of hospitals and their patients by providing the highest quality blood components and services. With more than 45 donor centers, 55 bloodmobiles and 2,000 blood drives a month, our LifeSouth team is dedicated to making sure the blood is there when you or your family is in need.
Our Mission
To provide a safe blood supply that meets or exceeds the needs in each community we serve, and to provide a variety of services in support of ongoing and emerging blood and transfusion related activities.
