Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
This is a non-teaching position within the Immersive Media Design (IMD) program. The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting the Program Director in managing program policies, facilities, communications, admissions, academics and other issues as needed. The primary responsibility of the position will be in managing student admissions and recruitment, student program advising, student career advising, supervising advisors, and handling many of the day-to-day academic operations in the Immersive Media Design program. The position reports to the Program Director and coordinates with the Departments of Art and Computer Science and the Colleges of Arts and Humanities and Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences as needed to carry out essential functions.
The Assistant Director manages the day-to-day academic operations of the Immersive Media Design program and works closely with the IMD Program Director, keeping them apprised of program operations. The Assistant Director will work collaboratively with the Program Director to establish, maintain, and carry out academic policies within the program. This position interprets broadly-written academic regulations and policies, provides assessment and evaluation of students’ academic progress. The Assistant Director independently advises students and renders decisions which may result in exceptions to established academic regulations. This position ensures students are properly served by Immersive Media Design, as well as other departments/units on campus.

- A bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience in higher education student services is required.

Additional Information:
Salary range is $80,000 to $94,000.

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must be able to maneuver around the campus to attend meetings and drop off or pick up items from other entities on campus. Must be able to lift at least 10 lbs. Move tables and set up for events. Will also need to work occasional weekends/nights.
