Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Research Coordinator reports to the Director of the Consortium on Race, Gender, and Ethnicity (CRGE). The Research Coordinator is an integral part of the leadership, research, and administrative team of CRGE and plays a significant role in the CRGE’s programs and goals. The coordinator supports all research-related initiatives, outreach activities, mixed methods data analyses, and oversees and coordinates qualitative research analyses and report writing. Other responsibilities may include coordinating programming initiatives, supervision of undergraduate and graduate student workers, and general oversight of day-to-day operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: ·
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in social and behavioral sciences, public health, and higher education from a U.S. institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:
Four years of experience in research project management of mixed methods research studies, hands-on experience with qualitative data analyses of interviews, focus groups, codebook development methods, and research report writing.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 
  • Qualitative research data analysis skills and data codebook methods. 
  • Coordination and management of codebook development and multiple data sources: demographics, scales, and open-ended coding items.
  • Interpersonal skills to work with the departmental staff of the director and other unit staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposal writing, data analysis, coding, manuscript editing, professional emails, and other center reports. 
  • Proficiency with a wide variety of software including computer software, design (i.e., Canva), newsletter (I.e., MailChimp), website development (i.e., Bluehost WordPress), instructional technology; Microsoft and Google suites and qualitative software analysis tools such as Dedoose, Atlas TI, MaxQDA.

  • Master’s preferred in social and behavioral sciences, public health, or higher education from a U.S. institution.
  • To perform the research and management duties described above, one needs a combination of research management, qualitative data analyses, proposal and report writing, relevant substantive knowledge, and administrative experience.
  • The ideal candidate is a self-starter with high oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, experience in qualitative research analyses, and a strong commitment to teamwork.
  • Knowledge of university organizational structure to work collaboratively with department, college, and internal and external partners efficiently.
  • Experience in reviewing and evaluating student research proposals.

Additional Certifications:

CITI certification is required.

Additional Information:

Salary range $52,000-$65,000.
