HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION
The Architectural Project Assistant provides support and assistance to the Architecture and Planning staff in the research and preparation of presentation materials for new projects. This position reports to the Architects.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Prepare design sketches, photo and plan markups under the direction of staff architects.
• Prepare CAD drawings from sketches prepared by staff architects.
• Prepare presentation materials under the direction of staff architects.
• Assist with documentation and markups during site walks of construction projects under the direction of staff architects.
• Verifies and documents conditions at existing SDZWA facilities.
• Conduct research on past projects and a variety of project related topics and products.
• Assist with the development of design materials for review by staff including sketches, CAD drawings, digital illustration and rendering, digital and physical models.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
JOB EXPERIENCE

• Must have some experience in architecture, landscape architecture or planning.
  

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Bachelor in Architecture or Landscape Architecture required.
  

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Knowledge of CAD, Design and Rendering software (AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Revit, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam Revu, etc).
• Knowledge of architectural drafting standards.
• Knowledge of architectural model building.
• Able to operate moderately complex computer software programs, including MS Office.
• Demonstrated ability to sketch by hand.
• Able to reach architectural and topographic plans.
• Demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in a diverse environment.
• Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently.
