AAP Writing Studio Tutor
Job Description
Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) Writing Studio is seeking online AAP Writing Studio Tutors from all AAP disciplines to assist master’s degree-level students with written assignments. Examples of the types of assignments could be writing a paper on economics, crafting a research proposal for their marketing class, or developing text for a museum exhibition.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Review and provide constructive feedback to students on their written assignments.
- Complete post-session summary.
- Work at least four hours per week in our online tutoring program.
- Read all training materials, approximately 150 pages.
- Attend online training sessions with supervisor.
- Attend monthly online meeting for peer tutors.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Must have completed courses interested in tutoring with at least B+ or be working toward a Master's or Ph.D in a related field.
- Experience navigating various learning management systems (I.e., Zoom Google Classroom, etc.)
Selected candidates will be required to submit a writing sample.
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching or peer tutoring experience.
- Excellent oral communications skills.
- Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of grammar usage and editorial style guidelines.
- Proven writing and communication skills.
Special knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Fluency in using online platforms, such as Zoom.
- Familiarity with Chicago, MLA, and APA styles.
Physical Requirements
- The work will be online and will require sitting at a desk for up to four hours.
