Primary Purpose:

Provides mid-level environmental guidance and support to internal clients, peers, management, and project teams. Routinely analyzes and interprets regulatory requirements typically identified by supervisors that affect company operations to develop strategies to mitigate the impact to company operations, advocacy packages for use in lobbying company positions, compliance programs/procedures/tools to ensure compliant operations, and strategic plans to support business objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares compliance-related documentation, standard practices, guidance documents and related technical training materials.
  • Conducts technical environmental specific training developed within the group and provides presentations to employees, contractors and agency representatives.
  • Participates in, and provides technical input to, proposed changes in regulatory requirements affecting company operations. Recommends modifications to company policies and procedures that reflect regulatory changes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

Hybrid Schedule:

  • Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow the employee to work onsite three days per week and remotely on the remaining workdays.
  • Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental-related field, or equivalent training, certifications, and/or experience.
  • 2+ work experience in an environmental-related discipline.
  • A thorough understanding of federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations.
  • Equally adept at working independently/autonomously (with little oversight and/or support) or as part of a team or group.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking skills to manage and/or participate in multiple projects, often simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal/relational skills to interact with clients, consultants, subject matter experts, legal, and regulatory inspectors/agencies.
  • Excellent oral and written communications, including briefing/presentation skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and other standard software programs.
  • Proficient in (or able to quickly learn and use) different compliance software, emissions databases, and/or reporting tools.
