Summary of Position

The Nutrition Connections Project Coordinator organizes and coordinates the timely implementation and reporting of multilevel interventions that promote nutrition equity and physical activity. This position is part of the UNH Cooperative Extension Nutrition Connections team working with the USDA-FNS Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) and the USDA-NIFA Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP). The project coordinator also works in close collaboration with other UNH Extension staff and local community partners. Responsibilities include guiding, training and supporting Nutrition Connections team members and community partners implementing programs that target diet quality, physical activity, nutrition access, food safety, and food resource management skills and behaviors of N.H. youth, adults, families, community sites and organizations, and sectors of influence. Programs include direct education; policies, systems, and environmental (PSE) changes; and social marketing campaigns. This position works closely with UNH Extension’s healthy living state specialist to provide leadership for supporting and improving overall SNAP-Ed and EFNEP project planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting efforts.
This is a remote position funded by SNAP-Ed and EFNEP grants.

Other minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, public health, or a related field with at least two years of relevant experience; OR master’s degree in nutrition, public health, or a related field
  • Experience using quantitative and qualitative data analysis for program design and evaluation.
  • Experience using the SNAP-Ed Evaluation Framework and program guidance.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel for work. Mileage will be reimbursed at the current federal rate.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced skills for capturing and analyzing data using Microsoft Excel.
  • Advanced skills for site development and maintenance using Notion.
  • Experience assessing needs, monitoring programs and sharing information using ArcGIS.
  • Experience with participatory research methods.
  • Experience with N-PEARS annual planning and reporting modules.

Duty/Responsibility

Project Management
  • Coordinate Implementing Agency (IA) activities and deliverables for annual planning (NH SNAP-Ed needs assessment and NH EFNEP five-year plan), project implementation, and reporting (NH SNAP-Ed Annual Report and NH EFNEP Annual Update).
  • Support the alignment of Nutrition Connections program goals and objectives with relevant SNAP-Ed Evaluation Framework indicators and EFNEP priority outcomes.
  • Support implementation of Nutrition Connections program and project monitoring tools with trainings, resources, and technical assistance.
  • Administer and evaluate SNAP-Ed and EFNEP overall program improvement and qualitative and quantitative evaluation efforts.
  • Improve and maintain the Nutrition Connections program resource site.
  • Ensure programmatic involvement of underserved and underrepresented audiences and that all educational programming is designed and conducted in full accordance with civil rights, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action (AA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) policies and procedures.
