Summary of Position

The Admissions Manager, Campus Visit Programs is responsible for the daily management of the student representative program, the primary tool of the office to introduce campus visitors (prospective students, parents, guidance personnel) to the university and its offerings, and, as such, is a critical component in the admissions office’s recruitment and admission strategy. They are also responsible for the management of a subset of on-campus programming, a large and critical component of the admissions office’s recruitment and admission strategy. Their leadership will ensure daily visitors to the Admissions Office have a satisfactory experience from start to finish. They will contribute to office functioning—planning, operational support, and other liaison duties as assigned. Additionally manages assigned territory to include reviewing applications from schools within that area as well as representing the university at high school visits and college nights, panel discussions, virtual programming, or other recruitment efforts.

  • Prior supervisory experience; excellent staff and office management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree and four years of experience in educational counseling/ administration or master’s degree in counseling or related field and two years of experience in educational counseling/administration.
  • Exceptional organizational skills required.
  • Excellent personal computer skills required to include excel, word, PowerPoint, and ability to learn new software.
  • Demonstrated commitment and experience working with diverse populations (race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, socio-economic status).
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Regular evening and weekend work will be required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and regularly exercise judgment regarding programming detail and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years admissions or higher education experience preferred or Master’s degree in counseling or related field and two years of experience in educational counseling/administration.
  • Familiarity with program planning or project management.
  • Experience with Slate CRM and report building
  • Masters preferred

Duty/Responsibility

Independent management of the student representative program to include scheduling, hiring, training, planning, evaluating, and supervising all necessary tasks inherent to running a tour program of approximately 50-100 student representatives, responsible for over 950 tours each year.
Additional tasks include:
  • Development and maintenance of procedure documentation for the student representative program.
  • Maintain accurate records on recruitment, retention and hours worked by student representatives. Use this data to make informed decisions each semester to improve the quality of programming offered while maintaining a strong student representative program.
  • Coordination with other offices that rely on student representative program for their programming/information needs
  • Prepare for and manage 3+ days of fall training and 2 days of spring training; 2 hours of monthly training and management meetings
  • Administer on-going evaluations of the tours program; incorporate results and findings
  • Manage advisory board (oversight, leadership board of student positions); support program management
  • Determine high priority programming and tasks to utilize student representatives.
  • Collaborate with other student experience coordinators and team members to schedule student ambassadors for programs and create specialized tour routes as needed.
  • Assign student workers to different projects or tasks as needed to support other student experience team members.
  • Maintains enthusiasm and commitment of student workers for exceptionally critical and cost-effective program.

Collaborate with On Campus Visitor Coordinator to create daily and weekend tour schedule for the year.
Additional tasks include:
  • Develop a plan on how student ambassadors will be utilized in various programs throughout the year.
  • Compile and review visitor data each semester to determine best schedule to meet visitor demand while well utilizing student representative resources.

Duty/Responsibility

Train, hire, supervise and evaluate the front desk admissions representatives and student workers.
Additional tasks include:
  • Outline goals for staff to meet to provide exceptional customer service to visitors.
  • Train staff to assist in maintaining accurate data of registrations and attendance for visitors.
  • Analyze visitor registration and attendance data to make recommendations for programmatic or tour schedule changes.
  • Along with On Campus Visitor Coordinator, develop speaking points and presentations for tour programming ensuring these along with the appearance of the office space and printed materials all align with branding and core messaging determined by communication team

Duty/Responsibility

Train, hire, supervise and evaluate the On Campus Visitor Coordinator ensuring daily visitors’ needs are met in all aspects of their visitor experience. Provide leadership and direction for Coordinator to work alongside front desk admissions representatives and student workers to manage daily visitor flow.
Additional tasks include:
  • In collaboration with the Director of Admissions, Student Engagement and Operations, cross train the staff to assist with call center and processing related tasks.
  • Assign staff to assist with call center or processing area tasks when needed.
  • Create and maintain a consistent method of updating front line staff such as the call center and front receptionists on programming updates and information.

  • Includes: representing the university at high school visits and college nights; panel discussions; develop new under-represented student markets; work with alumni and/or other efforts necessary to meet target goals established by the office.
