COMPENSATION: $44,717-$55,896 based on directly related experience.

Position Description & Details:

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students and underserved communities? Do you have a knack for organizing data and facilitating career success? The Bismarck State College EnerGETic DOL Grant Project is seeking an EnerGETic Career Navigator and Data Coordinator to play a critical role in empowering diverse students pursuing careers in Engineering Technology, Unmanned Air Systems, and Geographic Information Systems. As the EnerGETic Career Navigator & Data Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing and executing program strategies to recruit, support, and retain diverse, underserved populations. Your efforts will help students transition smoothly into college and secure rewarding careers in high-demand fields. You will also manage essential data for the grant, ensuring integrity and accuracy while contributing to the overall success of the project.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Recruit and Support Underserved Populations

  • Outreach and Recruitment: Develop and implement strategies for recruiting and retaining diverse students in Engineering Technology, Unmanned Air Systems, and Geographic Information Systems pathways.
  • Student Success: Coordinate the creation of educational and career goals for students, monitor their progress, and provide one-on-one career coaching and mentoring.
  • Community Support: Connect students with campus and community resources, ensuring they receive the wrap-around services they need for academic and career success.

Outreach to Industry and Community Organizations

  • Industry Collaboration: Work with the EnerGETic DOL Project Director to engage business and industry partners, helping to create and expand educational pathways and apprenticeship programs.
  • Feedback and Support: Gather and evaluate feedback from industry partners to ensure students’ transition into the workforce is successful.
  • Networking & Partnerships: Build strong relationships with community organizations, helping to facilitate easy access to resources for students and supporting career readiness.
  • Event Participation: Represent the program at action summits, career fairs, conferences, and other outreach events to promote services and build connections.

Data Collection & Database Management

  • Data Integrity: Oversee the collection, entry, and maintenance of accurate participant and program data, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements.
  • Database Management: Manage and monitor the grant database, ensuring data security and integrity while generating custom reports to support quarterly and final reporting on program outcomes.
  • Reporting: Support the preparation of reports that track grant activities, including progress on student outcomes, apprenticeship success, and community engagement.

Administrative Support

  • Administrative Assistance: Provide high-level administrative support to the EnerGETic DOL Project Director, including assisting with grant documents, quarterly reports, and modification requests.
  • Event Coordination: Help organize and coordinate meetings with industry partners, advisory committees, and other stakeholders, ensuring smooth logistics and follow-up.
  • Financial Reconciliation: Assist with purchasing card expenditures and maintain accurate financial records.

Miscellaneous Duties

  • Customer Service: Respond to inquiries from students, industry partners, and stakeholders, providing timely, accurate information and exceptional service.
  • Public Communications: Collaborate on public outreach efforts, producing newsletters, social media posts, press releases, and other materials that highlight the grant's achievements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with grant policies and procedures, suggesting process improvements and efficiencies where applicable.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or associate degree and two years of work experience in business, education, psychology, communications, social sciences, health sciences, trades, or related field.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage and analyze data sets, with excellent spreadsheet and database management skills (Microsoft Excel and Access preferred).
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with a customer service focus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of career planning and employment search processes, tools, and resources.
  • An understanding of community support services and how to access them.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Word, electronic email, and calendar) and the Internet.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work both independently and as a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with under-served populations. 
  • Experience working in a community college. 
  • Experience working with grants.
