Class Description
CCBC is currently seeking a full-time faculty member prepared to teach various courses in Psychology. Fifteen credit hours of instruction per semester, office hours, college and community service, and ongoing professional development are required. The position is located on the Essex campus but may require teaching classes online or at other campus locations scheduled during days, evenings, or weekends.
Preference will be given to candidates who present evidence of excellence in teaching, commitment to student learning, use of best teaching practices, and work experience at the Community College level. Applicants should demonstrate an ability to teach Introduction to Psychology and Human Growth and Development and show an interest in Multicultural Psychology, Human Sexuality, Abnormal Psychology, and/or Psychobiology. - Three letters of recommendation will be requested from candidates selected to be interviewed.Minimum Requirements
Master’s degree in a specified area of Psychology or Master’s degree in a Psychology-related field and at least 45 doctoral credits earned in a specified area of Psychology; two years’ full time experience teaching at the post-secondary level; experience working with diverse student populations; experience with the use of technology in teaching; demonstrated ability to teach and/or develop online courses; familiarity with quality assurance practice for online learning.
Preferred
Doctorate Degree in Psychology; evidence of membership in professional associations in one’s field; some community college teaching experience; participation in professional conferences and workshops.
