REPORTS TO: Chair, History and Social Sciences
Full-Time Tenure Track Opportunity beginning in Fall 2025
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports student learning by providing quality instruction for a wide variety of college-level Psychology courses and other closely aligned courses for both majors and non-majors in multiple modalities.
- Establishes clear course objectives; engaging class activities; effective presentations of learning materials; fair grading practices; timely responses to students; and a positive classroom atmosphere.
- Handles a teaching load of fifteen (15) contact hours per semester. Related responsibilities include maintaining five (5) office hours per week for student advisement and tutoring and participating in departmental, divisional, and College-wide activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited program
- College teaching experience
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- An earned doctorate in History from an accredited program
- Community college teaching experience
- Knowledge of the College’s mission and vision
- Commitment to a culture of assessment and evidence-based teaching
- Evidence of diverse instructional methods that address a variety of learning styles
- Evidence of incorporating digital technologies in both face-to-face and online classrooms
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:
SCHEDULE: Ten (10)-Month Position
RETIREMENT: Pension Eligible
