Position Summary

Director of Assessment

Salary Schedule Placement: Commensurate with education and experience according to Alabama Community College System E1-1 Salary Schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

In addition to adhering to the general guidelines as specified by the Faculty/Staff Handbook, the Associate Dean of Institutional Effectiveness, Executive Assistant to the President, the President, and Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees, responsibilities will include the following:
  • Performs activities relating to data mining, data validation, data collection, needs researching (current and future), and best practice researching current and future).
  • Performs activities relating to data mining, data validation, data collection, needs researching (current and future), and best practice researching current and future).
  • Annually Analyze college surveys, student Learning Outcomes and General Education data and share with college constituents
  • Annually update student achievement data on the College website, Consumer page
  • Annually analyze student achievement data and share information with internal and external constituents
  • Oversee the update of College Strategic Plan
  • Oversee College Program Review process
  • Manage the Colleges annual Strategic Planning Process.
  • Conducts focus groups and SWOT analysis for college-wide initiatives and programs.
  • Researches county and city initiatives, budgets, and strategic plans for trends and opportunities. Tracks state and national legislation.
  • Works with instructional units to coordinate data/information needs with respect to program and program reviews.
  • Works with all units across the college to develop, design and analyze college-wide surveys.
  • Assist in training faculty and staff on data needs along with software training where data is stored.
  • Assist with supervisory task as requested by the Associate Dean of Institutional Effectiveness
  • Serves on institutional effectiveness related committees (e.g. general education, institutional effectiveness, SACS leadership committee) as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean of Institutional Effectiveness, the Executive Assistant to the President and the President.

 

Qualifications

 

  • A Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution,
  • Three (3) years of management experience,
  • Three (3) years of experience analyzing qualitative and quantitative data,
  • Knowledge of research methods,
  • Effective oral and written communication skills,
  • Excellent organizational skills,
  • Experience working with internal and external constituent.
