Responsibilities

State Farm Insurance Company's San Diego Claim Litigation Counsel Law Firm, Karen D. Wood & Associates, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Law & Motion Attorney to join our team. As a Law & Motion Attorney, you will play a crucial role in our legal team, utilizing your exceptional knowledge of civil procedure, evidence, and trial strategy to provide outstanding written and oral advocacy.

Responsibilities:

  • Take primary responsibility for drafting law and motion matters for the office.
  • Handle a small inventory of litigated cases.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis.
  • Prepare and argue motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop case strategy.
  • Conduct legal analysis and provide advice on complex legal issues.
  • Ensure all work is completed accurately and within designated timelines.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws and legal trends.

Potential yearly salary range: $110,550 - $160,000

Potential yearly incentive pay up to 16% of base salary.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and excellent academic credentials.
  • Active license to practice in California and a member in good standing of the California Bar.
  • 2-10 years of experience practicing law, preferably with a focus on civil litigation.
  • Exceptional knowledge of civil procedure, evidence, and trial strategy.
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
  • Proven ability to independently manage a caseload.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work opportunity.
