Career Readiness Instructor (part-time)

 
Salish Kootenai College seeks applicants for: NYCP College & Career Readiness Instructor (part-time) (9 months)
Salary Range: $25.01 - $29.63 per hour DOEE

General Summary:

The instructor will develop and teach high school and early college/dual enrollment courses within the school structure.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop a college and career readiness curriculum and teach two semester-long courses for high school students grades 9-12. The instructor will offer culturally relevant large group and individualized career and college exploration and preparation activities to include a portfolio-building component. Class sessions will include group work and individualized work plans to assist students with all aspects of college and/or career planning including exploration, selection, and application for work-based learning positions, internships, scholarships, college, apprenticeships, and other opportunities. The instructor will teach the course five days per week during the regular school schedule.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in education or related academic field and secondary school certification. A minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the high school or college level. Excellent writing, communication, computer, organizational, and time-management skills required. Must successfully complete a background check (fingerprinting) due to working with minors and a pre-employment drug test.

Preferred Qualification:

Experience teaching Native American students.
