Position Description

 

Advertised Job Summary
The Post Doctoral Fellow will be responsible for the synthesis of nanomaterials and/or battery materials. The candidate will be responsible for detailed characterizations and analysis using multiple experimental tools that include, but not limited to gel permeation chromatography, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, electron microscopy, and X-ray scattering.
The candidate will also be responsible for the preparation of written reports and manuscripts as well as oral presentations; and mentoring graduate/undergraduate students in the laboratory.

Required Education and Experience
The candidate should have a Ph.D. by the start date of employment in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with expertise in nanomaterials or batteries. This expertise could have been gained during the normal course of a doctoral degree program.

Preferred Qualifications

 
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Expertise in polymer synthesis, polymer self-assembly, nanomaterial synthesis, or battery testing.
  • Experience and knowledge from synthetic laboratory work.
  • Experience in either imaging or scattering measurement techniques.
  • Knowledge and expertise in the use and maintenance of analytical instruments.
  • Document evidence of publications in related fields.
