School of Agriculture and Environment

  • Collegially work as part of a world class teaching and research team in Agricultural/Environmental Economics
  • Full-time appointment on an ongoing (tenurable) basis with a start of January 2025
  • Base salary range: Level B, $113,934 - $134,824 p.a.; Level C, $139,000 – 159,893 plus 17% superannuation

About the team

The UWA School of Agriculture and Environment (SAgE) is committed to high impact research and quality teaching. It’s teaching and research activities spans the broad disciplines of Agricultural, Environmental and Resource Economics, Agricultural Science, and Environmental Science, and ranks highly nationally and internationally in these areas. The school is strategically positioned in one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots and is surrounded by a wealth of agricultural, natural, and mining resources.

About the opportunity

This position will involve independent teaching and research in Agricultural/Environmental Economics. Key responsibilities will include unit design, delivery and content management, engaging with students and school staff to ensure a high-quality learning experience.

About you 

To be considered for this opportunity, you will be expected to undertake independent and collaborative research with other staff members and partners, attract grants to fund research from national/international funding agencies, engage with industry, publish high quality papers in leading journals, and supervise honours and graduate students’ research projects.

The appointee will also actively contribute to governance and collegial life within the School, Department, and across the University and outside the University.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:

  • PhD in Agricultural/Environmental Economics, or relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high level of quality teaching at undergraduate, honours and postgraduate levels across a variety of settings, including in the field.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a strong research and publication track record.
  • Demonstrable ability of leading public engagement activities that promote research and/or education outcomes, government, and industry.
