Title: Administrator of OSHA Training Curriculum
Institution: Volunteer State Community College
Job Summary:
This position supports OSHA Safety and Health Instructors with the development and coordination of curricula, presentations, content and exercises. This person will update student materials, evaluate/select textbooks, exercises and activities for incorporation into occupational safety and health courses, assess OSHA educational programs for quality and adherence to federal and state regulations, and assist instructors in integrating technology in the classroom. This position also is responsible for delivering assigned OSHA and related safety and health (RSH) courses, advising program participants, and has administrative duties that include assisting with the completion of required reports, evaluating course presenters, content, and methodologies, and promoting and recruiting companies and individuals to the program.
Job Duties:
Update Instructor lead presentations with current OSHA information, includes updating sections of student materials/manuals, building courses and associated information dissemination. Proofread and edit instructional materials as needed for consistency, accuracy and quality. Organize & Update learning management system (LMS) with input from Center administrative support personnel and instructors to create a manageable intuitive use system. Oversee certificate program completion and awards with program assistant. Teach/conduct OSHA and related safety and health (RSH) courses as assigned at on-campus or off-site locations. Assist with monitoring processes and procedures associated with OSHA course pre-requisites, certificates, etc. Assist with the identification of new qualified personnel to teach/conduct OSHA and related safety and health (RSH) courses. Manage classroom and shop/lab to ensure a productive and safe learning environment. Provide input on material preparation, in-class interactive activities, and electronic resources. Visit training sites to conduct observations and instructor evaluations. Promote OSHA and related safety and health offerings through the development of marketing materials, social media, presentations, business & industry visits, etc. Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Three years of related experience.
Must possess current OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer Card.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field OR hold a current Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credential.
Experience teaching Outreach Training Program classes (10- and 30-hour classes).
Experience teaching OSHA Training Institute Education Center classes.
Two years of experience in teaching adults in an academic or training environment.
Three years experience working with learning management systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have experience using Learning Management Systems and MS Office – Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
Must have experience in the use of a variety of instructional delivery modes.
Must possess strong communication skills, organizational skills, analytical skills, Microsoft Office skills, human relation skills, and an inclusive leadership style.
Pay Rate: $47,276 - $59,095 annual salary depending on experience
