- Sustained research publication record, record of extramural grantsmanship
- Finfish, shellfish, and macroalgae aquaculture experience
- Strong track record of scientific communication and presentation
- Demonstrated experience leading and participating in collaborative research within and outside of research institutes
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and scientific design
- Strong communication, team building and leadership skills
- AAUS Scientific Diving Certification
- Captain’s License or the sea time and qualifications to obtain one
- Teaching and student mentoring experience
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Diverse portfolio of successful extramural grantsmanship as lead PI (e.g., funding from federal, state, foundation, industry sponsors)
- Outreach and fundraising experience
- Experience working with fishermen and knowledge of the Gulf of Maine ecosystem
- Experience in spawning and larval rearing of marine pelagic finfish
- Experience in aquaculture system design, construction and management
- Experience in translational research and biotechnology
- Laboratory experience, especially related to genetics, reproductive biology, and practical aquaculture research
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage research teams
- Ability to operate a forklift, crane, and/or other large machinery
- Knowledge about boat and small engine maintenance
