Certified Lifeguard
Job Description
Position Summary
This is a short-term/temporary position.
Allan Hancock College is accepting applications for water safety certified lifeguards to establish a pool of qualified candidates.
Lifeguards should be able to observe and provide lifesaving support for swimming students.
Hours could be any combination of 5 to 20 hours, weekly from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Locations will be at the Allan Hancock College pool OR the Paul Nelson Aquatic Center. Employment is during the 16-week academic semesters for Fall, Spring, and Summer.Essential Functions and Qualifications
The essential functions of these positions include, but are not limited to:
• Performs the tasks necessary to promote public safety at the aquatic facility by lifeguarding;
• Monitors activities in the aquatic facility to prevent accidents;
• Acts in friendly, enthusiastic and caring manner towards students and staff.Minimum Qualifications
• Current certification in Lifeguarding, from the American Red Cross or WSI certificate or equivalent
• Current certification in First Aid, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers, from the American Red Cross or equivalentAdditional Information
