Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Associate of Accounts Payable Operations, the Accounts Payable Representative will process daily payments to vendors by reviewing all payment requests and purchase orders submitted by the Fordham community through various portals (Concur, Chrome River, Jaggaer, and Check Request).
Essential Functions
- Processes invoices for payments in applicable electronic platforms and related activities such as vendor coding.
- Monitors each electronic payment system.
- Manages the Accounts Payable inbox and communicates with departments and vendors regarding payment issues or inquiries.
- Assists other accounts payable staff in performing duties as needed or as directed by supervisors.
- Provides excellent customer service through the Finance Department call tree (Finesse and Jabber) and email.
- Reviews check requests over a specific dollar range to determine the correct fiscal year and inform staff of any changes at year-end closing based on information provided by Accounting Services.

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years working in an Accounts Payable role.
Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills
- Basic accounting skills
- Working knowledge of applications\desktop software, including Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to understand and learn account structures so as to be able to review account codes and key data.
- Well organized and able to work well in a multi-task, detail-oriented environment.
- Self-motivated and highly detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Effective communication skills to interact effectively with all levels of the University and external vendors.
- Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience with a fully computerized Accounts Payable system.
