Under the supervision of the Dean of Business & Management Pathway, will teach specialized courses in the Human Resources and related programs in accelerated, traditional and online format using active learning techniques. Instructor will be responsible for curriculum development in accelerated and traditional format as well as experience in developing online course format. Instructor must also have experience in Instructional Designing Courses (syllabus, COS, SOA, etc.) as needed for the program. The instructor will be given district-wide assignments that may include day, evening, weekend, on-campus and off-campus classes. Related duties include participation in divisional and departmental activities such as program promotion and recruitment, program assessment, program evaluation, advisory committee coordination, and continuous process improvement. In addition, instructor may work with the Division of Continuing Education & Workforce Development to develop, promote and deliver training to diverse business and industry customers of the college. Instructor will promote and represent the program to local businesses and community organizations. Review, plan and assess the program for the College Quality Review Processes.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching-related activities.
- Manage the classroom/laboratory.
- Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
- Manage equipment, supplies and materials.
- Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
- Collaborate with advisory committee in program area.
- Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
- Promote the education/training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market MATC.
- Support student organizations and activities.
- Develop relationships with business and industry.
- Complete program evaluation and follow-up.
- Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in field.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
Must have a Master’s degree or higher degree in Human Resources Management or a related area of study such as: Business, Employment, Labor, or Organizational Development.

Occupational Experience:
Must have a minimum of two (2) years of full-time or equivalent (4000 hours) of experience as a Human Resources Manager.
In addition, one of the following must be met:
- At least one year of work experience must have occurred within the last five years,
OR
- 2) Two years of teaching Human Resources Management course work at the post-secondary level within the last five years.
{One (1) year of teaching experience equivalent two (2) semesters full-time or four (4) semesters part-time – per State of Wisconsin Legislature Administrative Code TCS3 3.04}
Additional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must be familiar with HRIS technology (e.g. SAP, Brassring, PeopleSoft, Peopleclick, Ceridian, and/or others).
- Active involvement in professional organizations desirable.
- Knowledge or experience with engaged and service learning strongly preferred.
- Must be able to communicate effectively through both oral and written means.
- Must have knowledge of assessment of student academic achievement techniques.
- Must meet State of Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) instruction Certification Requirements http://mywtcs.wtcsystem.edu/certification.
- Must meet Higher Learning Commission (HLC) standards (if applicable).
- Must be able to relate successfully with students and staff of diverse cultural, social and educational backgrounds.

- Online Information Management Systems - Experience with INFOnline or other online information management systems used for student advising, student programs, grading, class schedules and rosters.
- Blackboard - Experience with Blackboard or other web-based course - management systems.
- Technology-based Instruction - Experience with technology-based instructional delivery systems including SMART symposium, interactive touch screen monitors, LCD projectors, DVD players and/or other classroom technology.
- Emerging Technologies - Experience with emerging technologies (eg. social networking applications).
- (Optional) Distance Learning Instruction - Experience with on-line, two-way video, ITV, and other methods of distance learning instruction.
