The College of Southern Maryland is accepting applications for a temporary part-time Scribe position to assist students with disabilities. This applicant pool will be accessed by the hiring manager when there is a hiring need. Duties include note taking, test proctoring and typing. The candidate must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule based on the student's needs.
College of Southern Maryland conducts background checks in order to ensure the safety and well-being of the College's staff and students. The final candidate for this position will be subject to the following background checks: Criminal History Check and Sex Offender Registry Check.

- At least three years of note taking or related experience
- Excellent spoken and written English language skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Ability to sustain prolonged concentration and to take accurate notes
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Knowledge and understanding of different types of disabilities and disability protocol
- Familiarity with the academic environment
- Competent computer skills and a minimum typing speed of 70 words a minute
- A high degree of flexibility, maturity, patience and professionalism.
